Am I in the wrong? Should I apologize ?

My friend is always making everything into a joke and can NEVER be serious and it’s annoying. Ex. if I make food he says “it’s probably disgusting” or send me dumb photos and says “this is what you look like huh” trying to be funny all the time but is making an ass of himself. I told him that I registered to be a bone marrow donor a while ago and they contacted me that they found a patient I am a match for 🥺 he said “eww that’s gross”. It bothered me So I told him “it’s not gross. It’s an amazing thing and I’m sure if your child was diagnosed with cancer you would be ecstatic to find a match to help get them healthy again.” He is mad at me now saying “ you’re so defensive and now you bring up my child getting cancer smh”. I never wished cancer upon his child. Am I in the wrong? Now he’s trying to make me look bad saying “medical procedures with needles are disgusting. Wishing cancer on my child is horrible”

Edit: he’s getting blocked. He knows I had a miscarriage a few months ago and I have been trying so hard to become a mom and he said “you’re not a mother so you wouldn’t understand” about me supposedly “wishing” cancer on his daughter.
