Asthma related?

I had childhood asthma and a couple of my sisters children do also.

Since July by daughter has been admitted to hospital twice with a viral induced wheeze which they said is really common but if she still goes home and has difficulties or gets another one before Xmas they will look into a preventor inhaler for her (currently she has a reliever inhaler).

It’s been 3 weeks since our last hospital visit and for the last 2 she’s woken up consistently between 3-5am with a fairly big coughing fit. The closer to 5am it is the more unlikely she will go back to sleep so it’s having a knock on effect on her sleep and some days she’s just exhausted 😩

We’ve tried monitoring the temp in her room etc but it’s now almost 5am and she’s been awake for an hour since another coughing fit so plan to call the drs on Monday to see if they can offer me any advice.

Does anyone else on here have a toddler/child with childhood asthma that has predictable coughing fits at certain times of the day or night? Her breathing throughout the rest of the day seems fine just when she’s having these early morning episodes does she get a little worked up.
