6 month old listening to the same songs over and over again???

So! When my babe was born I started to experiment with with what kind of songs he likes.. ones that will keep him entertained, and soothed... I finally ended up coming across this one YouTube video compilation of nursery like songs ... this video in particular is about an hour long and plays the same few nursery rhyme songs over and over..
Here's the thing: 
He listens to the same video almost all day through out the day, every day.. since he was about 3 months old... if I put anything else on, he  starts crying and shows disinterest OR can only tolerate something different for a small amount of time before he starts to get fussy..
Is listening to the same songs every day through out the day for months straight psychology harmful? Does it have any negative effects ? I've tried to read up on it, but I'm not finding the right info

I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong, but I do think you need to stop only because he has come to rely on this music to soothe him. It’s the same situation as when a dummy is the only thing that will settle a baby to sleep. It’s a negative association now and you need to get the habit out of him while he is still young x

I’m not sure if it’s harmful (probably not) but do you have a baby wrap? If so you could wear babe while you clean! It’s also a good little workout ☺️

He has so much to learn from it! Just as you can get more from watching a movie a few times. But for them it’s shapes and colors and sounds and facial expressions and animals and movement and landscapes and voices and words and more from nursery rhyme videos! 
Two things to try, if you want to cut out TV time start it on the second song for a few days, then the third song for a few days, etc until you’re not watching the whole thing.
If you want to try something else, expose him at a different time that is not part of a normal routine, they’re creatures of habits that we create. If you can get him to like something else at a time when he’s not expecting the norm, then he’ll probably accept variety more easily in the future. Kind of like stuffed animals and loveys, kids can cycle through if helped, otherwise they will attach to a single one and fight till they crash for it 😄
I will add that it’s not harmful at all to watch the same thing over and over, but it isn’t a good idea for kids to get daily screen time until around 2 at the earliest, if it can be helped. Now that baby is 6 months old, you can work on fostering independent play with interactive toys. Keep any toy that lights up with buttons and makes sounds for times when you want him to entertain himself.
Or put him in his high chair in the kitchen with some toys while you work or in a playpen with toys or stroller with some dangling toys clipped on while you work in other rooms. He craves doing things with his hands and body, not just his eyes and ears! Foster this type of independent play now and they’ll have that skill for the rest of their time at home with you!

It’s not psychologically harmful. If anything, repetition is normal and enhances learning. As long as he’s not droning and zoning out completely zombied it’s fine. My son was the same and they grow to like another thing for a while and then give up on that too. Just be sure he’s getting a variety of sensory experiences other than the video.
