Spotting after group b strep test

This is my second baby and today (at 36 weeks) I had my GBS test and it actually hurt and stung quite a bit! With my first, I remember the procedure feeling like nothing more than a quick and simple painless Pap smear. About an hour after I got home from the appt, I went to the bathroom and when I wiped there was quite a bit of spotting. I called the on call OB just to make sure this was normal and she said there should be no connection unless my doctor hit my cervix with the speculum. She just said to let them know if bleeding increases or there are true labor signs.
