Cramps after period?

So this is the second month in a row now where a few days after my period ends I suddenly start to get a severe stomach pain almost cramp like. Last month it just lasted for a few hours, but I just finished my period a few days ago and the last two days my stomach is in severe pain. Has anyone else experienced this?

Back story I used to have horrible periods…to the point I was loosing so much blood I’d faint, but getting on birth control helped keep everything more normal. I stopped taking birth control about a year ago since my partner and I are trying. A part of me wonders if this is somehow happening cause my periods have been bad again now that I’m no longer on the pill.
