Postpartum essentials that are actually worth the $?

Is it worth it to invest in things like frida mom ice packs, postpartum undies, witch hazel sprays, nipple cream, boob warming packs, etc? FTM and getting closer 😊 I don’t want to be sucked into getting a bunch of things that I don’t really need. But I also have no idea how many days of bleeding/ pain I’ll experience / how bad it’ll be.

The ONE thing I will tell you to get is a pedi bottle like the frida mom one. The angle of the spray is so much better than the one from the hospital.

Ice pack pads, absolutely.  They’re super soothing and the homemade ones such by comparison 
Post partum mesh undies, I hate them, they’re too big so they just sag once the giant pads are in them.  I used depends with ice pack pads in then the first few days and then just normal boy shorts undies with pads after that
Sprays -  I loved the earth mama perineal spray.  It was soooo soothing, way better than dermaplast imo 
Heat packs are great for the breasts if you have blocked ducts, I haven’t used them at all this time but I did tons last time
Cabbage leaves are great for painful engorged breasts but I never used them much 
Nipple balm is absolutely necessary if you get cracked nipples or if you plan on pumping at all (lubricate the flanges)
One of my most absolute favorite things this time was “wish garden after ease” to help with the post partum cramping

I really loved the preparation h wipes, dermaplast was aggressive. My hospital provided both but I still buy the wipes!

Don't buy their icepacks. I got two long ones on Amazon for 10$. They can be frozen and heated. I used them now as general icepacks lol

Ice packs and hot packs 110%. They can be used for vaginal or c section birth. 
Compression socks. Both pregnancies I swelled up after birth but the second one wasn’t nearly as bad because I wore my socks.

A nice peri bottle (one for each bathroom), calendula and comfrey leaves to make a topical tea for sitz baths and Peri bottle use, donut pillow, sitz bath if hospital doesn't provide one, epsom salts for sitz baths, ladybug hakaas (I found these way easier to use than the original, coconut oil (works better than lanolin on cracked nips), breast ice packs

I didn’t buy any special postpartum stuff except for nipple cream for nursing. I used the mesh undies and peri bottle from the hospital (they work just fine). I just purchased regular pads for bleeding. I didn’t need anything else. I would wait to see if you really need something especially if you have someone who can run out and get it for you.

I used nipple cream the first week and only a little bit after that. Other then that I didn’t need padscicles because I didn’t test and wasn’t in much pain at all honestly
