How to prepare a toddler for a new sibling?

I have a 2 1/2 year old and I’m currently pregnant and was wondering if anyone had tips or tricks to help introduce him to the idea of having a new sibling?!

I had my 2nd when my 1st was 16 months. We just kept talking about the baby and got her baby dolls so she could practice holding and kissing and feeding them. Now my oldest is 2.5 and my 2nd is 15 months. We’ve been talking about a new baby brother or sister in mommy’s belly. I tell my 2.5 year old she gets to be a big sister again and help mommy with the new baby. I also keep showing her the video of when she met my 15 month old for the first time and she loves watching it. I keep telling her there’s going to be a new baby to love

My daughter is 3 and she knows something is inside mommy’s tummy she just can’t really comprehend it’s another human being lol. But, she does talk about her brother, say hi to my belly, apologize to her brother when she hits my belly. That’s because we talk about him a lot, I’ve explained that her baby brother is growing inside of me and will come out to meet her soon. We also let her pick out outfits for him and try to involve her as much as possible. So now she knows someone else will be entering the family just not when lol
