Did you bring a gown for your baby as part of his or her outfit in your hospital bag?

I’m thinking to bring one footies with zipper and a gown and a swaddle and a pair of socks. Just because it’s winter time. Is there anything else clothing wise I need to bring for babe? I have a hat for babe as well.

Are you in the US? I think the gowns are mostly for pictures or if having visitors. I never do any of that. I just take one going home outfit and one blanket. Hospitals gross me out and I try to pack super minimal so I’m not taking germ infested things back home and having even more laundry. They’ll have you doing skin to skin, checking the baby so often, and it’s not cold inside- so there’s really no need to keep undressing them so much for checks and what not.

I would add mittens because they always come out with long, sharp nails!

It will be a toss up on the weather for us, I’m planning on taking footies to wear home since the gowns would be hard to put in the car seat- but I’m also taking the gown because I want pictures in it 😂 they’ll just be with my phone but I still want them!
