Induction question. Plzzzz give advice

Ladies I had another question about induction. If it’s not for a medical reason can I refuse to have one ? Or would doctors only recommended if I really need it ? I’m starting to get scared because it seems like having an induction is a longer process than when baby actually comes naturally when he’s ready. Do I make sense ? Sorry this is my first pregnancy and I am starting to get so nervous since my due date is tomorrow and I know due dates aren’t always accurate. I just watched a few videos of women getting induced and it looks scary 😣

Btw I have a doctor appointment on Monday and I will ask then.
