So my fiancé and I have been engaged for over a year. We are just going to the court house to get married. I don’t want anything fancy and he doesn’t either. We have had some conflicts with our last name. I want to take his. He wants to take mine. I don’t want my last name because it’s well known in the area I am in & my father was a drug addict who got his name slandered all over town. My fiancé doesn’t want his because he doesn’t associate with his family and wants no part of being tied to them anymore. It’s always been my dream to be married and have a different last name. But i don’t know what to do. If you were in this position, what would you do?
