8 weeks scan measuring 6 weeks

Hi ladies yesterday i had my first 8 weeks scan and i was devastated to know that the baby only measured 6 weeks 1 day no heart beat the doctor said it might be missed miscarriage or a possible late ovulation and i have to back in 5 days to see if there’s any growth or no :( this is my first pregnancy did this happen to anyone and what was the outcome iam trying to stay positive but also stay realistic so i wont go in a shock and try to understand what is meant to me will happen no matter what and what is not will not happen no matter what
