Hi all!

I could use some tips or advice. I had chlamydia back in high school, had all of the classic symptoms, got diagnosed and I took the azithromycin and it went away without any issues.

Well, I have been having recurring yeast infections/BV over the last 6 months and I recently thought it was the cause of my recent symptoms (watery, odorless discharge enough to make it feel like I peed myself a little) because it didn’t feel like the last time I had chlamydia. I went to the doctor, she also thought it was BV and prescribed the metronidazole. I took it and after a week started experiencing a slight foul odor, but the excessive watery discharge stopped, and I still had no itching or burning when peeing. Test results came back and I’m positive for chlamydia. Don’t know how it could have happened but that’s a different story.

I took the azithromycin the same day (Tuesday 10/26) and the next day noticed I had the clear watery discharge again, this time it smelled awful, and now I have a slight vaginal itch. I let it go, but over the last couple of days, the itching, the odor, and the watery discharge just keep getting worse. I’m at the point where I want to sit on an ice pack all day because it’s itching/burning so bad down there. I’m pretty sure it’s also a little swollen because it’s so tender with even slight movements.

My question is, if I took the azithromycin, shouldn’t I be seeing an improvement in symptoms? Has anyone else had this experience where symptoms just got worse while waiting to be retested? Any suggestions on relieving the pain/itchiness? It feels like everything is getting 10x worse than it was before I took the medication. I have reached out to my doctor twice and have received no response. I really don’t want to be miserable until my next appointment.
