im just curious! i know i wont be posting my baby on any social media platform, any other moms have the same thought?🤍 with my son i did tho. i stopper

This is my second, I didn’t post any pregnancy pics, announcements or anything I’m regards to either of them,  I haven’t posted pics of my son and I won’t post pics of my daughter after she’s born either! Social media makes it too easy and I don’t think kids belong on it🤷🏻‍♀️ they can have their photos posted when they ask

I Think Just From Seeing People Steal Baby Photos And Repost To Make It Seem Like My Baby Is Theirs . Idk I Just Don’t Even Want People On Social Media In My Business .

My partner and I decided not to post photos of or information about the baby with the exception of an annual family Christmas photo and a photo of hands  and feet to announce bub has arrived (after we’ve come back down to earth).
For us, it came down to these 3 main reasons. Hope this helps 💖
1. We value quality friendship. If someone genuinely cares, they’ll contact us in more meaningful ways than liking a Facebook post.
2. Consent and privacy. There is no way for our tiny human to consent to the photos, stories, information or narratives we would post about them. They also won’t have a reasonable right of reply. Similarly, that content will forever be out there shaping how the world views or accesses them, which seems really unfair if they have no opportunity to shape the outcome.  
3. It’s of absolutely no benefit to the child. How does any of the content published about the child serve or benefit them in any way? Who does the message/image/information serve and for what purpose? Most of the time it’s bragging… I’ll take a hard pass on that.

All of my family lives in another country and I have friends around the world from travelling. Social media is my platform from everyone to meet my little one💙
I understand if you wouldn't want to tho, I don't think I would if I lived near my family and friends. Do what feels right for you ❤️

I haven’t with my 20 month old and I won’t with this little guy,1 either. I really really want to show off how cute my son is, but consent and online safety are both very important to us. My husband is an attorney who specializes in child welfare and endangerment. He’s seen a lot of scary stuff, some he’ll tell me about and some he won’t. Hands down, it’s just not worth it for us.

I can understand not wanting to. Privacy is important and there are a lot of creeps out there. I personally am really into photography and love to take photos of my daughter for the holidays. My Facebook is private and only my friends and family can see my posts anyway. They really look forward to my posts and it puts a smile on people's faces. So yes, when my little thanksgiving turkey is born, he will also be subject to my camera. 😅

Us! I did this with my first and am glad I decided that. I eventually deleted my social media beyond a few shell accounts for custom service purposes too. One of my best decisions. That and getting rid of my tv before birth. 
People (toxic people) did get mad about it though.

I don’t post many things of my son on FB, I will be posting the monthly milestones again with babe 2 as I love how it comes up in memories. I don’t have a lot of people on Facebook so that’s why I’m ok doing it. We do have the family app and that is where I post all the photos of my son and will of babe 2 as well! The only way for others to see pictures on there is if I send them an invite to our album. It is great, especially with COVID, because close family has been able to have updates instead of me sending photos to individual people.
