Has anyone ever heard of this before? COVID hiding?

So I am just thinking back on some things. It sounds a little extra like you're gonna be like wtf but I almost died so I mean. I don't know

Around a year ago I got extremely sick. This is when the pandemic was blowing up so I went to the health department and got tested. I was violently sick coughing up the nastiest thickest shit like it was cement. I tested negative for COVID. Next thing I know, my entire family, who I live with.. they ALL are testing positive for COVID just as I am getting better from being sick. We all quarantined for 2 weeks, and not ONCE did I get sick from COVID even though I was living in a house full of people sick with COVID. I went and got tested during those 2 weeks because I fully expected to get it but I didn't.

Now THIS was just a few months ago. I ended up in the ICU with pneumonia in all lobes of my lungs. It was bad, I would stop breathing in my sleep and wake up and see a bunch of people around me like "wtf" because I wasn't breathing and then I'd just wake up. My pulse ox was 85, and I required 24/7 monitoring. My heart was suffering somehow- I honestly do not remember because I was on deaths door. I just remember them opening my gown and saying they were putting a heart monitor on me.

They were so convinced it was COVID they tested me 6 times within the week I was there. They wore suits around me, (I remember thinking they looked like aliens and giggling but I was oxygen deprived don't judge) and the doctor on my case personally came in and said "I don't believe this isn't COVID. Pneumonia doesn't spread to all 4 lobes of the lungs like this, COVID pushes it that far. I'm not convinced."

I still tested negative

I literally remember the doctor and nurses? Talking about how they were dumbfounded by the fact that it wasn't COVID. Just a dreamy weird memory.

They saved my life though because I woke up one day and they were setting food next to me and I just started eating it and I popped up like "FOOD." Like Frankenstein. They were like "oh my god you're actually eating!" And I left a few days later. I do not think...I do not think they thought I was going to live because I may be here now but BOY I was literally dying. They saved my damn life.

Do any of you think that it's possible that COVID just won't show up on tests for some people? Even though I was negative, they still took all the COVID precautions and treated me like I had it.
