Going out

My son is nearly 10 months old. Being born in the middle of the pandemic he never goes in public rarely ever. He’s never been to a grocery store with me or anything, I would love to walk around a target for example but I’m just afraid of Covid. How do you guys keep your little ones safe, or what are your thoughts on this ? Thanks In advance!

If you don’t take him out now then his immune system will be super low and will get sick easy! I haven’t let Covid slow us down! It’s just like the flu, can be super mild case in one person and rough on the next. Can’t be scared forever because Covid isn’t going anywhere now that it’s here!

We just go. We don't let covid dictate our lives. Plus, it doesn't spread easily on surfaces, so just distance from people if you're worried. My January baby has already had Covid though. Super duper mild.

My 2.5 years old never been to the grocery store. Covid or not I prefer shopping alone. I just want to go fast and be done with it. I did bring my 9 months old a few times and i usually use my baby carrier.

We just go. My kids (3 year old and 10 month old) both go to stores frequently, come to the children’s program where I work, eat at restaurants, and do activities like zoos, aquariums, etc. Adults wear masks and are vaccinated, the three year old wears a mask when required. I breastfed my LO whole I had Covid back in March and while I got vaccinated in the summer, so she has some antibodies to help protect her too.

I just go. He is in the cart so I’m not worried at all. He loves going to the store.

Everyone has to wear a mask, so I feel pretty safe taking her out to places where it's not too crowded. We love going places like home stores and craft stores! I wear her, so I can pretty easily keep our distance from people, and we sanitize hands going in and out. No unnecessary risks, but you do whatever you need to do within your comfort level.

Just go out. Baby stays in cart or stroller so it’s not like people are coughing in their face or anything. We’ve taken our daughter out since she was a few weeks old. She LOVES it. I’d be more concerned with her getting RSV than Covid. Its never going away so unless your baby has some known health condition there’s no need to live in fear.

My little one will be 10 months soon and we’re pretty much back to life as normal. She comes food shopping, we go to play centers and birthday parties. Covid isn’t likely to go anywhere so I think we need to learn to live with it. I’d take small steps to start while you’re not so comfortable and build on it from there taking your little one to more places are you feel more settled about it.

We take our 9 month old girls everywhere, we have no other choice. In the begining, they stayed in their stroller, but I got those shopping cart covers and they love sitting in the cart during our grocery trips. I just make sure to wash them after every use. Everything we take out that the girls touch is washed after our outing. We all ended up with Covid last month and their case it wasn't bad at all and one of my babies is a heart warrior.
