My dad is tough on my husband but my parents both love him like he’s their own son. My parents ended up having to take guardianship of my husband when we were 15 so that’s probably why my parents are so close with him.

I cannot think of a single time where my partner has been alone with either of my parents or has talked to them without me around. Both of my parents were abusive and they are not very involved in my life now. He’s cordial to them when he has to be, but they definitely are not friends and I would be extremely uncomfortable if they were, especially with my dad

Those are two different questions. My husband and dad got in a disagreement before we were married. Both were neither right or wrong. My dad however ended up being a jerk. So no, they don’t have a relationship.
My husband and Mom have a good relationship though.
