How did you get married?

My fiancé wants a big wedding and I don’t. I probably would have less than 10 people on my invite list. I do want to go wedding dress shopping and I want to get dolled up for our big day but idk if I necessarily want the whole shabang. But I do feel like I want a little more than a courthouse wedding. What is a step above a courthouse wedding but below an actual big ceremony? 😅

An outdoor wedding. My husband and I were the same; I had about 15 people out of 80 who came, the rest were my husbands folks. So we did an outside wedding and ceremony and it was fun! It’s still beautiful and you can get all dolled up, but it’s not as formal as church and everything

I got married at VFW .it only coated me 3,00 for hole wedding. My wedding dress one coated 100 dollars.the second one coated $500.bride made dress we got on sale.they both Coates under 100 dollars.we did cupcakes. What we wanted for cake it was cheaper to do cupcakes. For a cake it would have coated $500.we had over 500 cupcake for under $300 everyone loved then. We did have three different kinds cupcake. We did 75 people.

I got married on a river in the middle of a forest at a mountain lodge. We had immediate family only so about 50 people including us and the guy marrying us. We spent only a few thousand total for everything including dress, rings, tux. It was beautiful in the end. I didn't want a wedding...or to really even get married but it was important to my now husband so I went with it. Our wedding was great and the whole weekend (we stayed 3 nights with everyone) was great EXCEPT my mil is a monster and was there haha. If she hadn't been there is would have been amazing but was still nice. We swam in the river and hiked during the days. At night we had camp fires and drinks and smores and music. Was super fun and relaxing...minus mil from hell.

I got married on the beach. It was cheap. There was maybe 30 ppl. Was super laid back. Ate pizza on the boardwalk & partied after.

We had about 25 people at our wedding. It was in my parents backyard. I hate being the center of attention so after the ceremony I said nothing is gonna be about us we will just hang out and eat. I wish we just had went to the courthouse but I felt obligated to have members of our families being there so we decided on a smaller wedding instead.

A friend of mine did basically what you are describing for her wedding. It was strictly immediate family. Bride groom, both sets of parents, both siblings and that’s all. I think they did a very small venue for photos and a shirt ceremony, then I think they all went to a restaurant or something.

If you want a smaller, more intimate wedding then do that! I originally wanted to just elope with no one there, but had family members in declining health that i wanted to be able to see us get married. I don't necessarily regret that we had a bigger wedding than originally planned, but i do wish i had honored my own wishes first. Mine was super small, maybe 25-30 people in total? Everyone was family or close friends (I am lucky enough to have a cousin that can legally perform weddings, and his wife took our photos). You can still be dolled up and have a beautiful day with an intimate wedding ❤

We did a planned elopement in Paris just the two of us dressed up had professional photographer then showed off the pics at home with a small party of close friends and family. For legal ease we signed the paperwork in the states at a courthouse.
