Daughter came home with bruises from daycare five times
My daughter has came home on FIVE DIFFERENT occasions with bruises on her! She is 9 months old now. Would I be covered under FMLA while caring for her while finding another daycare because of this ?
The first one happened on her very first day. They claimed she hit herself in the eye and scratched her eye but they had no evidence. It was an assumption. They claimed they didn’t know what happened.
The second the said my daughter was reaching for a toy and she fell into another baby’s bracelet and cut the side of her face. But they never called me or anything and didn’t tell me nothing when I picked them up. They had her hood on her so I wouldn’t notice. But while standing outside talking to the care provider her hood fell off and I asked what happened to my baby and she said that she had NO IDEA and that she would have to ask the daytime care providers. She was the night time care provider and she said that my daughter was given to her with her face like that. But I feel like that should have been the first thing said to me when I came to pick my child up NOT when I notice it for myself and then they tried to cover it up by putting her hood on when I came to pick her up !
The third and fourth are bruises on her thigh. I never mentioned this to the daycare because I felt like they would try to cover it up anyway.
The fifth is a darker bruise on her face. It may be hard to see on the picture but in person it’s darker than that and I didn’t notice until we got home because I pick up my child at night and when it’s night time it’s hard to see and I didn’t mention this to the daycare either. I should have known something was wrong with my baby the way the night care provider kept staring at her face while handing her to me. But my son was talking to me pulling my arm and I never noticed and I feel so bad. They never addressed it or anything.
I’m just going to take my baby out of this daycare at this point because they try to cover things up.
Will this be covered under FMLA while I look for another daycare ?Also what should I do?
