We decided to sleep train once our baby started rolling. We decided to try the Ferber method and it worked wonders! He was sleeping through the night in less than 5 days! 
I told my husband I won't give up night feeds if he wakes up around his normal feed times, I didn't want to add so much change at once. Well,  he just kept on sleeping! He's been sleeping through the night for about two months now. The only time he wakes in the night is when he's teething, which is understandable. So we change his diaper and snuggle/rock him back to sleep. He will usually fall back to sleep within 20 minutes so we don't feed him. 
I truly am glad we did sleep training. It worked for our family and didn't have a negative impact on our son's normal sleep routines.

My little guy sometimes won’t wake up at all till morning but other nights he nurses every 2 hours. It’s completely biologically normal for babies to wake every so often at night until the age of 1. As adults we do too but get ourselves back to sleep so quickly that we don’t notice we woke. Babies don’t have the same self soothing skills or the ability to connect sleep cycles well yet. There’s nothing you can really do.
