help needed..especially from fellow teachers!

i am 38 weeks pregnant and completely done with trying to work anymore. not only is this one of the hardest years to be a teacher, i am completely and totally exhausted from being at the end of my pregnancy. my job will not let me take FMLA until i literally go into labor. i am a new teacher so i have basically minimal sick leave which i'm pretty sure i've used up already going to all my dr's appointments. basically, i am planning to call out "sick" the next 2 weeks to get some much needed rest and mental relief time. i can afford to take it unpaid. what can i say to my principal to minimize her anger and help her understand that i will not be there the next 2 weeks? i'd like to keep a positive professional relationship but i am done putting this job ahead of myself and my health. what should i say??

EDIT: dr refuses to write a note unless i have a medical complication
