Would you still try to have a relationship with your homophobic mom if youre gay?

Im probably going to cut my mom off after I move out, so I just want to see if I should tell her Im gay first or just cut her off for the toxic behavior and trauma she put me through.

If you haven’t come out to her and can muster, I think you should come out before leaving. That way there’s no unknowns and you don’t have to wonder if she’d have come around, etc. Totally up to you though. Only you know the depth of your trauma ♥️

My mom is very toxic and homophobic, as is my dad. I’m out of this house the second I’m able to. Everything I do makes me more of a disappointment to them so I’ll just tell them I’m bi and cut them out of my life forever

i think you should tell her even if you intend to leave. no point in hiding and who knows, maybe she’ll come around some day? and if she doesn’t, it doesn’t really make a difference if you’re leaving anyways. don’t come out until you feel safe doing so though.
