Is this normal??

Question

I’m 8 weeks pregnant and have been sick. I had light pink spotting this morning when I wiped and again this evening. I had an ultrasound on Wednesday (2 days ago) and there was a heartbeat. Is the spotting normal? I know some can be, but I’m getting really worried.

I spotted pink at 8 weeks with my daughter. Everything was fine and she is almost 5yo now.

Omg I’m in the same exact boat as you. Tomorrow I’ll be 8 weeks and this morning I wiped and saw like a pinkish color blood on the toilet paper and again mid day and this evening. Im freaking out because this is kinda how it started right before I miscarried back in July :( but I also read that once the heartbeat is confirmed the chances of miscarriage are lower, I had my first ultrasound Nov 16 and baby was measuring fine and heartbeat was good. Wishing you the best though. I have my next appointment Dec 7.

At 8 weeks they likely did a transvaginal ultrasound. Since the cervix is so vascular in pregnancy, a transvaginal ultrasound can cause irritation to the cervix which can cause spotting. It happened to me at 9 weeks. 2 days after I had a (fairly aggressive) transvaginal ultrasound I had some pretty heavy spotting that subsided in an hour or so. It was incredibly nerve wracking. I am now 15 weeks and haven’t had any since! You also could have a small subchorionic hematoma which is typically harmless and fairly common, can also cause spotting on and off!

Is this normal??
