Baby shower etiquette

I have a friend wanting to throw a baby shower, so I gave her 3 friends names I thought might want to help, none of them are able to help with this second baby and I really don’t want my friend to have to throw it alone. My mom offered to help..what’s the etiquette on that? Is that frowned upon or do people care?

I really appreciate both my friend and mom for being willing to help..it’s just such a tricky topic when asking other friends or family if they haven’t mentioned helping with a shower at all. (I hope that makes sense)
