Would you call on your neighbors if you heard an adult raging and children screaming?

Im a single mom and live in an apartment complex that is low income and as a result a lot of DV in the area around us. Our neighbors are usually pretty peaceful but one is a grandma and she usually is very quiet, the last few weeks it seems her daughter and 6 grandkids have maybe moved in and I just heard the dad absolutely raging and the kids screaming, he sounded like he was slamming/throwing things and barreling through back and forth and the kids were terrified screaming at the top of their lungs. After a couple of the loud bangs screaming got louder, I’m not sure because of fear or pain. I could not tell if he hit any of them but they were screaming, he was slamming/throwing/cussing. I usually try to keep to myself but I called the cops because this is the second time I’ve heard a similar situation from them. I worry about them suspecting me and targeting me. I’m wondering if I overreacted or jumped on it too soon on calling it in
