Can I wear a bra during labor?

This may be a stupid question, so I apologize in advance, but I’m having my first child soon (could go into labor anytime) and I was wondering, can I wear a bra while giving birth?! And if so, does it have to be a nursing bra? (I do plan on breast feeding) or could anything like even a Victoria’s Secret bra be fine?! I’ve just never been comfortable going braless, and I’m going to have my mom and boyfriend in the room... plus I don’t even feel comfortable being braless around nurses or anyone visiting. I feel like I’m the only one who cares about this kinda thing 😅

You can wear whatever you want but honestly all modesty goes out the window during labor. I get embarrassed about these things super easily and ended up practically naked within 2 hours of delivery because the gown just got so annoying. When you’ve had a doctor watch a baby come out of you and had a nurse clean your vagina after using the bathroom, something like a bra doesn’t matter too much 😅

Yes you can wear whatever you like. A nursing bra just makes it easier for to get the breast out when baby comes and is seeking for your breast.

You can wear one if you want put as a mother of two babies... you will not care who is there and may even throw the bra at a nurse 😂

Of course you can. Just get something maternity encase you want to put baby on boob straight away… even if it’s just skin on skin. You don’t want to pull a bra down under your bbs it’s so uncomfortable

People kept telling me I wouldn’t care what I was wearing in the moment. But I know myself very well. I did in fact wear a bra during labor. I would look into just a simple nursing bra that has no padding or clasp.

I don’t even go without underwear walking around the house with just my husband. When I went into labor (attempted home birth) with my first I was completely naked or loosely wrapped with a robe for the day and a half leading up to her birth. When the ambulance was called they had to tell me I should probably grab a towel or sheet to cover up with because of the weather (northern Michigan in mid-may). I was naked most of the hospital time as well. Absolutely no f*cks to give.

So I normally prefer to have a bra on and was wearing a sports bra when I went into labor. Didn’t think much of it. My water broke in triage and there were no breaks between contractions. By the time I got to the room less than an hour later, I was in so much pain I couldn’t form a sentence let alone get my bra off. I got the epidural with my bra on, decided I wanted it off so I didn’t have to mess with it for skin to skin, the nurse helped me and somehow we managed to dislodge the epidural. No one noticed until I started feeling contractions again. So maybe wear one with hooks.

My nurse took my bra off during labour with my first. I kept it on when I put the hospital gown on, and she noticed and just started removing it. I was told it was a risk if something happened and they had to use paddles.

I wore a sports bra the whole time and had a epidural and c section. The nurse helped me take it off when I wanted to do skin toskin for the first time.

You totally can. I did until I got the epidural and took all my clothes off and didn’t even wear a hospital gown.
