Do you follow the American Academy of Pediatrics’ recommendation to avoid screen time before 2 years old?

The AAP recommends not giving children screen time under the age of 2, but people always look at me like I’m crazy when I say my 1 year old doesn’t have a favorite show or movie because she doesn’t watch TV yet. I’m curious where others stand on this, or if they’ve thought about it. No judgment, I’m just wondering.

I used to.
I avoided all screens for the first 2 years. Then limited it to 15 min a day and even limited FaceTime with relatives out of state because "any time" in front of a screen was "bad". That's what we were told. 
Till the same people who advised me to limit the screen time saw fit to put children in front of a screen 5 days a week for 8 hours to do "distance learning" for almost 2 years. Apparently it's actually OK as long as it fits their purposes. Got it.
Now I do what I think is best and what fits my family. You should do the same.

I have multiple kids so it isnt realistic with the younger ones. However I am pretty strict with what they see and for how long. We actually moved overseas and it took weeks for our stuff to arrive. It was so peaceful without the TV that it is still stored away 2 months later. We just have a desktop computer that they watch stuff on youtube occasionally. I noticed they actually play more, go outside more etc.

My 3.5 year old has never watched a show or a movie besides what he has seen in passing at an appointment like the dentist or something. It started out as me not wanting to give him screen time until two like suggested and not it’s kinda just curiosity to see how long we can go! No judgment to anyone who does it different just our preference for now.

I do my best and screen time still fluctuates in terms of frequency for my now 5 year old. Before 2 - she probably caught glimpses of my TV shows or movies but nothing specially on for her. She got more into it probably around 2.5 and now can have days without screen time or some days with an hour or even 2-3. It just really depends on what's going on in our life. I do monitor what she watches and try to engage her on the topics she watches and such so it's still interactive time for us.

As a family, we don't watch TV.  We might watch 6 movies a year or so, but we're too busy for shows. My son is 2.5 and he's seen a couple episodes of Tom & Jerry because I needed to distract him while I studied for exams, but he prefers to play outside. 
I'm odd though, because we didnt have TV until i was 14 so I'm not accustomed to it being on much.
