First Ultrasound?

I’m pregnant for the first time ever I’m currently 7w1d today, my first appointment isn’t until December 27th. I have had an extremely bad experience with an internal ultrasound once before for something else and was just wondering & freaking out if at my first appointment are they going to do a regular ultrasound or a vaginal ultrasound? And how do they determine that? I’m like traumatized from the last experience and really can’t imagine going through it again for any reason if they can do something else. Sorry just panicking!
