Did I blow santa for my kid??

My son is 4 years old and started questioning me on christmas about Santa!! I wasn’t expecting that at all, I thought he’d believe for a long time and wouldnt start questioning me for a few more years atleast, anyways, I got him this big tower he was wanting and I put it in the back office room where he isnt allowed to go in often, dads work stuff is in there, and he never goes in there anyways, the door usually is locked and no reason for him to be there.

He told me later in the day after he had been playing with it that Santa didnt bring him that, I did, because he saw it in there one day and knows it was there and it wasnt christmas that day, thats what he said to me.. I tried denying I said no iv never seen that before, Maybe santa brought it early? etc, he eventually just went with what I said and didnt say anything else since..

I still think he believes in santa right now though and he is happy with all of his gifts.

I dont know when or where he saw it because im alwsys with him and I know I dont allow him back there and dad said he didnt either, but he does know because he told ne the exact spot it was in.

It makes me wonder, Why did he not ask me who its for or say anything at all prior to christmas? That seems unlike him.. Also he didnt say anything when he was opening it up and getting it from santa..

im just a little confused at the moment trying to keep the majic alive.

Any similar stories? Do you think I can keep him believing or did i mess it up for him? Do you think he will ask about it again? Why do you think he wouldnt have said anything before christmas?? I thought maybe he wouldnt say if he was sneaking into the room and didnt want me to know, but still doesnt seem like a 4 year old would be able to keep that big of a secret to himself without any comments or questions
