Pump help

Christina

I’m currently 4wks pp returning to work in 8wks but have to purchase my insurance pump tomorrow. I’ve bought 3 portable ones with my own money however insurance will pay for one and I would like a backup pump that’s a more traditional double pump in case things aren’t going well with the portable ones(I know they can be quirky/temperamental and people have stated that they were having issues with it emptying breasts sufficiently). I’ve had a medela PIS and a spectra(pink corded one) with previous babies. I really wanted to love the spectra but never felt like it had good suction or emptied me. I tried changing flange sizes and replacing duck bills but nothing seemed to work. I ended up desperately using my old medela. That being said, my current choices tomorrow are the medela PIS(advanced or maxflow), spectra(both rechargeable battery or corded), medela sonata, ameda purely yours, or Avent double electric. I don’t love the medela PIS advanced but it got the job done. Is it possible I just had a faulty spectra? Has anyone used both the medela PIS advanced as well as the maxflow, I’m curious if they are similar with performance. I’ve never tried ameda or Avent so any input would be so helpful!
