Period

I have been testing for ovulation since my last period ended, I tested two times a day and got dark lines but never a positive and the last few days the lines faded and were extremely light. I then started my period exactly a week early, I had very very painful cramps two days before my period even started and now that it’s started I’m having a lot of clots and still very bad cramps. Does anyone know why it was a week early and more painful that normal ? I don’t think I ovulated I tested every single day never got a positive.
