Has any Mama's on here tried baby led weaning? I'm doing a mix of purees and BLW with my girl. Just wanting to hear everyone else's experiences😊

My son is 6 months old yesterday and I am trying the BLW mixed with purées as well. It’s so different from what I did with my 11 year old- (big age gap!) when the day she turned 4 months we plopped her in a chair and shoved baby food in her mouth. We didn’t introduce food at all until a few weeks ago when I felt he was ready and he’s doing very well. He’s gagged a couple times but He absolutely loves the tastes and textures. No issues so far, I’ve done a lot of research as well since I was pregnant and the only issue is he’s a tad constipated but I think that’s from too many bananas. Will be adding prune purées to help with that. Good luck! Im new to the BLW and what I’m not comfortable with, I don’t do.. but I love that the door is open a little bit more to explore and learn new textures and chewing. It’s been so fun watching him. It’s a mess for sure but I’ve loved every second of it.

I’ve started with my girl. Doing a mix of BLW and a little purées. So far she is super into it! Eating all sorts of things. Completely night and day compared to my son when I started BLW with him. He’s 2.5 now and picky so here’s hoping she will be a better eater!

I did with my first and he was a pro at it . Now he eats everything . Now with my second we are trying baby food first only because he can sit unassisted as soon as he can sit on his own without help we will jump to.full on blw

Out of my four the last two I have done baby led weaning I'm a huge fan of this seriously wish I would have known about it with my first two 🙂

My baby is almost 6 months and we will be starting. I did it with my first.  He’s 2.5 years old and eats like a champ.  BLW is amazing but do your research and make sure you feel confident when starting on the difference between choking and gagging.  A lot of people have the misconception that baby’s need teeth to chew but we chew with our molars.  If that was the case, kids wouldn’t have food until they get their molars (after 2 years old) so that would be ridiculous!  BLW can be so much fun. Hope you enjoy it!!

I just started with my little boy, I bought a book and everything, but when it got down to giving him a banana and him actually taking a bite, I got so scared. He did great with it, but I was scared to let him continue. He's got a doctors appointment next week so I may wait to see what his doctor thinks. I really wanted to the baby led feeding along with the purees (which he's been doing great on for the past two months), but I'm so scared of him choking. 
I was wondering is anyone else was worried about this. I looked up videos of choking vs gagging but it just made it worse for me. I know nature equipped babies with the gag reflex but it's still scary for me.
