45 min labor & delivery
Well my February baby became a January baby.! Completely unexpected! I was working the night of Jan 14. Felt fine nothing abnormal outside of my Braxton hicks. Went to the restroom around 3am and saw a very very small streak of blood in my mucus plug. I mean so small I had to question if it was really blood. So I called my midwife and she told me labor was beginning. I did not believe her because I felt fine. I had NO warning signs. My midwife said so calm “I’ll probably see you in L&D later today” I laughed at her like she’s crazy this baby isn’t coming today. I ended up going home early just to be safe, got there about 4:30. Still no pain no contractions, nothing. I lied down and once I got good and sleep BOOM… here’s the contractions. They were intense & happening so quickly I didn’t even have time to count them. I told husband “it’s time to go NOW”. Got to the hospital at 6:30. The pain got worse as I tried to give them a urine sample. I called for the midwife immediately because I felt like I had to push. She came in and checked me and told me I was already 7cm dilated !!!!! I was in shock, like this came out of nowhere. Anyways immediately after the cervix check it was time to push. Mind you…I was still in triage as this was going on. They got me over to the delivery room and I was pushing as they were trying to get me to the next bed. After about 3 good pushes baby was born at 6:59!!! Baby is considered SGA but he is thriving, feeding well, lab work is great.
A very quick, unexpected, shocking yet amazing experience. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Here’s my little bean 🥰
Good Luck February Mamas!! Almost there !
