Ultrasounds during pregnancy when you’re 35+ years old

Jennifer • Hopelessly in love with my soulmate, mother of four beautiful kiddos: 💕03/03/08, 💙05/06/10, 👼💙09/28/18 - 06/02/2020, 💙03/27/2022 and current expecting #5 in July

This is baby #4 for me but my first being over 35 aka geriatric pregnancy (I’m sure there is a softer term used now) lol I just finished my 29 week appointment and my doctor said I’ll have a growth scan every two weeks until 36 weeks then I have to get a scan twice weekly until birth. That will be more scans in the last trimester alone than I had for the entirety of my other pregnancies! There aren’t any concerns with my health or baby’s and I’m fine with whatever they need to do, just wondering if this is normal or a new thing for older moms?
