NIPT cost??

Hi, i took a NIPt test along with 1st trimester blood work. I saw the lab was in network of my insurance but i got a claim from my insurance saying they did not pay 2500$. Does that mean the test was that much cost?? How much did u pay out of pocket if u had too?

Mine was $2700 and they denied the claim. My midwife is working on fighting this for me. If we’re not able to get it covered, we’re going to ask about private pay without insurance
It’s sucks. Everyone in the Facebook group I’m in had said theirs was a couple hundreds dollars max, so I thought that’s what ours would be too. I was in for a big surprise

They’re supposed to give you a cash price of no more than 350 if insurance doesn’t cover it.

What the companies charge through insurance and charge through patient pay are different prices. If it’s not covered, the lab can often offer you the self pay price separately. Mine was $250, but I had to participate in a survey.

The paper I signed yesterday that if insurance did not cover it, it was $349. I’ve never done it with previous pregnancies, but being a few months shy of 40 I think my chances might be a little higher for Downs.
