My SIL has a 3 month old baby and her maternity leave finishes in 2 weeks. She wants to stay home longer so she got her doctor to write her a note to be off work for a month with a “postnatal depression” which she doesn’t have. Then she’ll work one day and hand in her resignation and call in sick the rest of the month while her employer still has to pay her for that month. (I’m not from the US, my country has all this social security available). Craziest thing is that she actually still has 4 months parental leave but it doesn’t pay as much as faking an illness and abusing her employer. Maybe I’m just bitter and needed the rant or is it okay to be fuming over this as someone who suffered from PPD
