IUI converted to IVF

Hi all!

I just wanted to share in case there might be anyone else that can relate and maybe offer support or advice!

So I was taking meds for an IUI this cycle and ended up with too many follicles. So instead of canceling the cycle my Doctor switched it to an IVF cycle (at half cost, so great). I had my egg retrieval on 1/28, so today is day 5. Out of the 10 that fertilized, 5 are at blastocyst! I had no idea how the egg retrieval would go and how much recovery time I’d need. The nurses are always like “oh you can go back to normal the next day.” Nope. Nope.

We will most likely freeze the embryos and plan for the transfer next cycle so that my body can heal. I’m just so excited and in disbelief that this is happening.
