Ok so I’ve been with my bf for 4 years. We don’t live together. We are both 24 years old. He lives about 45mins away. So anyways my bf has been unemployed for 7months. He’s a Diesel mechanic. He claims he’s been applying for jobs and every time he gets an interview he says “I don’t want that job it’s to far and the pay is not good” at first I was supportive of him but now I’m sick and tired of it. He doesn’t have any money. I literally pay for 95%of everything on our dates. If he comes down to see me I send him gas money. He hasn’t made the effort to see me in 2 weeks and his excuse is money. But yet he goes out with his friends every single night. They don’t go out but they hang out at each other’s house. Rn he helping a family friend at his mechanic shop and the family friend pays him a about $200 for the week but all that money goes to his sister and dad to help with rent and bills. When he used to work he will make good money but now he just doesn’t seem to care to find his own job. It’s a HUGE turn off for me. I used to be the one not to care for money but seeing him like this turns me off. He makes no effort to see me unless I send him gas money. If I go up and see him I’m still expected to pay for our dates. I’ve been pushing him for months to get a job but he doesn’t care. I once even threaten to break up with him because I felt like I was financially supporting this relationship and I couldn’t do it anymore I need the relationship to be 50/50. And he got a job but he literally quite after a week because “he didn’t like it”. I seriously don’t see him the same anymore. I feel bad for feeling this way but I do. I miss him treating me like a princess and buying me flowers every week taking me out on cute dates. But now he literally doesn’t do shit other than hang out at home and friends. Am I a jerk for feeling this way?
