Hcg levels

I had gone to the ER for something unrelated to my pregnancy. My hcg levels were 9529. The ER doctor said the pregnancy didn't look good and I had lost the baby. I was devastated. I then got the levels done again about 36 hours later....12554. PCP said that is fantastic and I just wasn't as far along as I thought. I have tried looking to see what the levels mean, but can't figure out how far along I really am. This ER doctor has scared the crap out of me and I question everything. Like, why don't I have any symptoms? Should I "feel" pregnant? Am I just over reacting?
