Would you be hurt

What I thought was a close friend didn't visit me once in the hospital when I gave birth. There was complications and my baby had to be in the hospital for a month after she was born. The father of my baby was too busy to be bothered with being at the hospital so I was pretty much alone. The hospital we were at was a half hr drive from my friend. I recently let her know I was hurt that she wasn't physically there for me and instead of getting a sincere apology, she fired back at me that she called me multiple times and she thought that was good enough. I wasn't expecting her to be there every day but to not visit at all?? And yes she did call and check up on me but for someone that was supposed to be a close friend was I expecting too much? Do I have a right to be hurt by this and want a real apology?

A few things to add: No I'm not with the father anymore. Yes she knew he wasn't there and I was pretty much alone
