Thoughts on this court case, was the ruling fair?

A married women and her boss (actually the owner of the company) start having a affair. The women’s husband finds flirting text messages between them. The husband contacts the man and tells him to leave his wife alone she is married. He believe that they no longer are flirting but they actually continue the affair for months.

The husband finds his wife at the other mans apartment. He confronts them and finds out she is leaving him for the other man. He is absolutely heart broken and believes they had a happy marriage until this man came in the picture.

The husband sued the other man for alienation of affection. In court he fights had this man not have pursued his wife they would still be in a happy marriage.

The husband wins the lawsuit and the wife’s lover had to pay him $9 million.

Now how do you feel about this lawsuit? Do you think it’s fair? Do you think this paves the way for others to sue their partner’s lovers if they have a affair? Since cheating is not illegal, and everyone can make their own personal choices whether others think they are right or wrong, is it dangerous to start suing people for cheating?
