Covid and cycle changes

Chrissy

Has your cycle changed since you got covid?

In the beginning of January the whole family unfortunately got covid, including myself. And of course i was due for my period a few days after i had gotten sick. It was a horrible double whammy ad my periods are already really painful and i have pms.

My fiance has been away for work the past year. Finally comes home in a week. Period is late by 7 days now. And i am not pregnant obviously. This is highly unusual. My periods have been so regular and now i am a week late. And i swear i never got a true positive opk. It was close but not yet positive and then it just went back down and never went up again. I just figures the surge didn't last long and i just missed it.

But something was nagging at me it didn't feel like i did ovulate. I know my body and something felt off. I didn't have any egg white cm like i normally do and my positives and peak was not at all how it normally was. I made sure to look back at previous cycles to compare. This cycle just didn't seem right.

So i decided to look and see if maybe having gotten covid could delay my cycle a little since it was a big stresser on my body. I found many articles online saying that it very well could. Reports of women going months without a period, having a longer cycles, having more painful cramps, and worsening pms symptoms.

So now i am worried. Maybe i am jumping the gun and worrying prematurely. But i cant seem to help it, we were finally gonna be able to start trying for a baby again. Now i don't know what my body is doing? Should i keeping track of ovulation?

I hope this is just a one time fluke and things will go back to normal soon. I am praying so hard. I just want to be pregnant and give my fiance the baby we so badly desire.
