Vasectomy and IVF

My husband had a vasectomy well over 10 years ago. We want to have a baby and we recently visited a fertility clinic to figure out our options. We were told that it was going to come down to the sperm retrieval and IVF, since the efficacy of a reversal wouldn't be high enough for doctors to attempt. I was a little heartbroken because I know how expensive IVF can get and honestly, I don't know how we'd pull together the funds to try. I know IUI can be a little less cost prohibitive, but I don't know if IUI would even be an option. The woman at the clinic didn't suggest it, she kind of made it seem like it's IVF or nothing? Any input or suggestions would be great!
