Urinary retention after birth

Hello about 4 years ago when I had my first son I was sent him on a catheter for about 2 weeks because I was unable to pee on my own, i was able to see a urologist and get it removed and was fine after but was never told why that happened to me, now I just had another baby a month ago and for the entire month I was back and forth from the hospital for urinary retention they ruled out UTI and I now have a temporary Foley catheter in me AGAIN with a follow up with a urologist in place, has anyone ever had to deal with this or anything similar after birth ?
