Maternity leave

Hi mamas,

So long story short. I was told by my HR department, and the LOA company that I had 12 weeks leave. 6 weeks recovery and 6 weeks bonding. They would be split up with how it looks on the claim so to not be frightened. I had confirmed multiple times I had 12 weeks and would go back to work April 19. Far forward to this past Friday and I get a call from the company saying I do not qualify for bonding time and I would have to return to work this upcoming Friday the 18th. However the daycare we have our daughter set up at does not have her opening until April 19th and we have no family that can watch her for the next 6 weeks. I have to call my job and talk with them about all this. But basically I’m stressing. Not sure what to do or how to handle the situation. I know I was told by multiple people I had 12 weeks guaranteed. I’ll even be fine with taking the next 6 weeks unpaid… either they let me do that or I feel like I’m out of a job…. Just a struggling first time mom over here with her emotions and not knowing what else to do.
