Labor induction

Just curious how long any moms on here were made to wait after their due date for a labor induction? I have my 39 week appointment this week and I’m not sure when my doctor will be comfortable with scheduling an induction if I reach my due date and he has not arrived. I plan to ask the doctor today what the plan will be if I reach my due date but idk what to do. I’ve read sometimes they wait until 42 weeks to schedule an induction and that would be an absolute nightmare I can’t possibly handle waiting until 42 weeks to have this baby boy. I don’t know how to get them to understand I am not comfortable with waiting until 42 weeks to deliver this baby and I feel like after 40 weeks it should be my choice anyways considering I’ll be full term so it can’t be considered early induction.
