Is it possible for both mom and dad to work while also being able to raise a family ?

Those that do ... how do you do it ? 
I was sitting one day thinking about everything. I’m studying to become a midwife and I want to work but if I have kids. Should I leave my job that I studied very hard for and depend on my future husband? How will we make our schedules work if we both are working? Im not a big fan of day care. I feel like it’s so difficult managing a home where mom and dad are both working. I just feel really confused honestly. So some questions to those that have a plan what’s your plan I would love to hear it . Those that are in this position how are things going and how are you making things work ?

I stay at home and I cannot imagine how couples who both work do it, unless you leave your kids in daycare for a large portion of time, which is so hard. We chose to have kids so we want to raise them, in person, as much as possible.

You’ll need to have different shifts. Like one take day shift and the other one takes evening/ night shift.  That’s what my brother and his wife did. He would work day shift and she would work evenings.

My parents did, my sister and I are both and college and I’d say we’re all close enough, we talk on the phone everyday

My parents split it so my dad worked mornings and my  mom worked late afternoon- evening. Then they swapped and my dad worked 2nd shift for a while. When my brother and I were both in school, my mom started working in the school district so her schedule was the same as ours and my did whatever. 
We both work and our kid is in daycare. He has wonderful teachers and enjoys going to school to play with his friends. It works for us :)

Let me know when you figure it out. 😅 Unless one of you has a job where you can work nights, I don’t see how it’s possible without daycare. We always kind of planned on me being a SAHM. We’re not fans of daycare either and feel we aren’t having kids for someone else to raise them (yes, I realize that’s my privilege talking). But it’s still a huge adjustment and kind of a punch to the gut to have to put my career on hold. I’ll go back to work when they start school.

both of my parents worked long hours (both owned their own businesses) so they hired live-in nannies for my brother and i. they both worked from home so if an emergency popped up or we needed a hug they were there, but they were still working lol
