Baby Blankets??

FTM here! I just had my baby shower and one thing I got is a ton of is blankets. Some are really thick, some are thin, some are homemade and some are big and some are small. I’m organizing the baby room now and trying to find a home for everything. I am struggling though with all these blankets that I got! I love them all and they are all very cute but wondering what your all experiences are with baby blankets? Like, do you go through lots of them all the time due to spills/spit ups? Or is it best to sort through them and pick out some favorites and then maybe store the rest for future use? I got a total of 18 blankets so I feel like it’s a little excessive to keep them all in the babies room if I’m only gonna use a small handful of them.

I felt like we were gifted blankets left and right with my first and I hated it. We really only used a few. BUT my daughter did not spit up and rarely had any diaper accidents. You can always keep them to see if you used them and if not put them away later. I currently only have 3 blankets for my son and will probably buy a thicker one later when it is winter but that's it. It all depends on your kid and also how often you do laundry. I'm pretty consistent with laundry and we cloth diaper so I know I will wash it whenever it gets dirty. If you are someone who doesn't wash laundry often or get behind a bunch you'd want more.

Yep, I’m hoping I don’t get too many this time around because my house has been the house of blankets since my first was born. Get a nice storage box and keep some for future use. Try to return others. It sounds bad for the people who bought/made them, but you could also donate some to Goodwill or shelters for moms in need.

With my first born I had so many blankets. But I liked it that way I was big on things being clean so I had specific blankets that went out in public vs ones for comfort at home

Swaddles I used a lot of for a long time, actual blankets 2-3? I have the one I got them each which is still their lovies at age 4 and 2. Then one for the car seat and I had one I used in their crib when they were older than one! 
Oh if you plan on taking any classes then it’s nice to have one to put down for that too.

I got so many, and even more after the baby was born. And I never ever used them all. They’re so cute but honestly just such a waste. If you can return any or exchange for more useful items I would do that.
