Share registry link on Facebook?

We live 6-12 hours away from all our family and are not planning on having any kind of baby shower. Is it tacky to share our registry link on Facebook? All my cousins got showers and my family got them stuff but that’s not going to happen with me I feel like. We have no help basically. Our parents have helped with most of the big things, so our registry is mostly cheaper things. I don’t want to seem like I’m begging for things either.

We are first time parents and live out of state from family/friends and aren’t having a shower, so my mom made an email announcement and sent our registry to close family who she knew would want to buy things for us. Then she sent it out to some of her friends who asked for it. 
But putting it on Facebook would be tacky. But I also think those birthday charity posts and Go-Fund-Me posts are tacky too 🤷🏼‍♀️ I also found that when we announced on Facebook that we are expecting some distant friends/relatives searched for a registry on their own and sent us stuff.

Yes it’s tacky. If people want to get you things, they’ll ask you for your registry and then you can share it

I had friends who lived in another province from their families so they did this. I didn’t think it was tacky.. especially since they were a younger couple who didn’t have high paying jobs and it was their first baby. 
Maybe you could have a family member or close friend create a private group and share your registry to your friends and extended family there?? Like just the people you would have invited to a shower if you could have one?

Maybe send out an announcement and just include the registry link or info that way those who want to send you something can but you’re not directly asking

Don’t be tacky about it lol but no one is going to feel pressured into on Facebook. If anyone wants to get you anything they will and if they don’t they won’t :)

I’m only sharing mine with my mom. I’m not having a baby shower either. I think if I was really young maybe I would share it but I feel a little weird asking people for stuff even though I know it’s something people do. At the end of the day it’s up to you.

I shared mine! We have friends and family in other states. I just said something along the lines of 
"Hey friends and family !Baby is doing great, she is xx size and we are just so excited! While it's not necessary any help would be appreciated with our bundle of joy! Here is our registry. Thank you all!
