ClearBlue ovulation test- faulty?!

Looking for some insight from others who have used the Clear Blue Advanced Digital ovulation test. Has anyone has their reader machine become faulty?

I bought this kit back in July 2020. It worked great and I got pregnant the first try. I still had leftover strips, so I decided to save them because they didn’t expire until October 2022 we knew we wanted another baby. Fast forward to March 2022 and we decided to try for a baby this month. I’ve been off birth control for months and have been tracking my cycle. I knew the knew the average length and when to start testing. Today was the 5th day that I had an empty circle. When I got pregnant with my daughter using these, I remember having multiple days of empty circles before I got a flashing smiley face.

According to my period tracker, I am supposed to ovulate tomorrow. I am having the correct consistency/type of cervical mucus for ovulation, but yet the clear blue ovulation reader is saying low fertility (empty circle). The back actual test strips have both the LH surge and estrogen (and about the same shade of blue). This has me thinking that the ovulation reader is no longer working correctly (and based off my current CM).

I thought about getting some ovulation strips, but figured I shouldn’t waste the money considering my husband and I will just have sex the next couple of days anyways in thinking that I am ovulating. The strips wouldn’t make a difference anymore. It would have just been for more of peace of mind knowing I am actually ovulating.

*** So basically my question is, has anyone gone back to use their ovulation reader over a year later and not have if work properly?
