Today I got screamed at on the phone for around 20 minutes because her daughter had to owe her recess for another teacher… in which I had nothing to do with other than I am her homeroom teacher. I told her I cannot continue the conversation if she is going to yell. I needed to drop everything what I was doing (tending to all of my other students) to inform her she had to owe recess.

Then she proceeds to bring up my infant child which was inappropriate and irrelevant to the conversation. I told her do not speak about my son so now she claims I yelled at her and she’s reporting me to the board and admin (who is already aware) for yelling and ignoring her when I was spoken to by her.

Just need to vent because the worst part of teaching are the parents who think we owe them a kidney when we do everything we possibly can to help their child succeed and be happy when they’re in school.

I am so over this job. Please don’t treat your child’s teacher like this!!!
